Who Sinned?

And passing by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, Master, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?  (John 9:1)

Yesterday when I read this verse, it struck me how much I want to know, who to blame. This also reminds me of a verse near the end of Psalm 19, which says; “Who can understand error? Cleanse me from secrets. Keep back your servant from presumptions; let them not have dominion over me: then I shall be upright and innocent of great transgressions.” (Psalm 19:12-03)

I am so interested in finding out who to blame, who is the cause of my trouble?

But Jesus shows us that we are just thinking incorrectly.

Jesus answered, “Neither has this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.”

I cannot say that every person with a disability or unfortunate circumstance is my responsibility to heal or fix. At this point I take away that when I see these things, I should not judge, rather I can pause and pray for them, and ask God if there is any part that I can play in improving their circumstance.

what do you think about this?
